What a month is is, as we prepare ourselves for the most wonderous even on earth - and beyond! We often think of Jesus as the one who shows us the Father's love and extended grace and forgiveness to those who do not deserve it. And He does! But Jesus Christ also issues commands that we must follow if we are to be His disciple and miss many of the potholes of this life. How foolish we would be if we only sought the gifts He offeres and ignored His commands regarding those gifts. For instance Jesus commands, "You must be born again." (John 3:7) This is the essential requirement to become a Christian! It is the gateway each person must go through to receive a whole new spiritual foundation of faith and trust in God. This is the Holy Spirit's work who gives birth to our spirit (John 3:6) as we believe and place our trust in Jesus Christ. Although the temptation may be to by-pass Christ's commands and go straight to the resurrection, you will miss everything if you go the short-cut. As we worship this month, let Christ himself, lead you, through your faith in Him. He will reveal things to you that you would have missed and ask you to do things you would have thought impossible. You will be amazed at the many good things God desires to do through you. Just like Jesus' first disciples, you will be filled with joy! What a perfect way to celebrate Easter. So on we go...
