No Regrets Youth Group Information

Romans 10: 9-13 That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.
As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in Him will never be put to shame...the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on Him, for everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."

The best gift you can receive this Christmas is the free gift of salvation. A gift that you can enjoy from the second you accept it. A gift that never wears out, runs dry, or grows old. A gift that will last for eternity.
Our prayer for you this Christmas is that the love of Christ will fill your hearts and your homes. That you will accept His gift of salvation and cherish it. That His love and peace will overflow from your hearts and bless the lives of others. Merry Christmas!

Partnership For Missional Church Update

This, our second year, is where we experiment with new ideas and we ask ourselves, "How can we serve Jesus in a world that is rapidly changing?" As our world changes, we as Christians must look for ways to serve Him by serving those around us.

So here we are. We've chosen Family Support" as our challenge. We have asked you what family issues are troublesome for you and you responded. Thank yoU! The same question is being asked to folks in the community. The PMC teams are reviewing the responses and, while we are currently looking at a couple of ideas, we welcome your thoughts as well.
1.) We are looking into a local "Resource Center" to be displayed here at the church that would include brochures/literature that could lead you to agencies who offer help in the areas that concern you.

Example: Did you know that LIFE/Butler County helps older adults continue to live in their homes by providing services that address needs that accompany the aging process? They coordinate doctors' appointments/nursing care, provide an on-call nurse and physician who are available 24/7, provide assistance with meals, housekeeping, laundry, medication management, adult day services and more.

Or how about ... LIFESTEPS! Did you know they have child care programs for children with and without special needs; offer developmental and behavioral testing for children; have an Alzheimer's Care & Caregiver support group; have residential living in seven (7) western PA counties for people with disabilities? And that's only part of the support they provide!

2.) Along these same lines, we're looking into a "Family Resource Fair." These fairs, sponsored by the MANY agencies Butler Co. has to offer, may lead you to answers in other areas -- the Autism Society of Butler Co.; "Someone's Caring" (deals with the death of a loved one); VNA; Precious Dreams (pregnancy loss): Men's Morning (support for men who have lost a wife or partner), and so on.

By now, you should be getting a clearer picture of what our PMC journey is about -- listening to God's call ... going where He is sending us... allowing His Holy Spirit to lead us...

Mt. Chestnut Christian Preschool

4/5 Year Olds:

In December we are learning about the true meaning of Christmas which is the birth of Jesus.  We will be creating gingerbread houses and diving into our Alphabet letters.  Our mission project will be to collect mittens and socks to donate to a worthy charity.

In January our winter themes will be penguins, snowflakes and the best one... hot chocolate!  We will read our favorite winter book by Jan Brett The Mitten and do some activites with that.  Our Bible stories for January will be Daniel & The Lion's Den and Jonah & The Whale.  We are continuing in 2012 our Worship Wednesday program.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 2012,
Mrs. Geibel & Mrs. Dulya

Stephen Ministries

What is Stephen Ministry? Our congregatino's Stephen Ministry equips lay people to provide confidential, one-to-one Christian care to individuals in our congregation and community who are experienceding difficulties in their lives.

A Stephen Minister is: *A child of God who walks beside a person who is hurting; * A congregation member with gifts for caregiving who was carefully selected to serve in this role; * A lay person who has received 50 hours of training in providing emotional and spritual care; * A caring, Christian friend who listens, cares, prays, supports, and encourages; * Someone who will "be there" for his or her care receiver, meeting faithfully for about an hour each week, for as long as there's a need

Greetings from Jeff, Marianne, and Joyce-
The three of us went for a week long Sephen Ministry confernece the week of July 31st through August 6th to be trained as Stephen Ministry Leaders. It was a long intense training that will enable us to start a "Care Giving and Care Receiving" program. The Leader's Training Course was a multi-denominational event with respresentatives from 32 states, 3 countries, and 376 attendees. At this training course we received the instruction and materials necessary to implement  and sustain this program of lay caring ministry. We will be preparing for this ministry in the months to come. Our only request now if for prayer as we start to implement the Stephen Ministry with the Mt. Chestnut church family and community.
