Moment for Missions

Give...Act... and Pray for Haiti:
*Rescue teams, food, water and medical supplies are just some of the ways
Presbyterian Disaster Assistance (PDA) has been responsible in the wake of
Haiti's terrible earthquake.
*Although Port Au Prince has been deeply wounded, we are reminded that
God is a God of hope and that we are to act out of that hope and not out of despair.
*While much as been done, you can imagine how much is left to be done. The special "Haiti Relief" account established at Mt. Chestnut is sent to PDA on a monthly basis and will be ongoing as long as donations come in. If you would like to donate, please make checks payable to "Mt. Chestnut Presbyterian Church" and write HAITI RELIEF in the memo portion of your check.
*Thank you.
"And if anyone gives even a cup of water to one of these little ones
because he is my disciple, I tell you the truth,
he will certainly not lose the reward." - Jesus

Books for the Butler Prison Library:
*Thank you for your generous donations of new/used paperback books.
One Great Hour of Sharing:
*Give help --- Give Hope --- Give Life!
*In your box of weekly offering envelopes you'll find a tan envelope entitled "One Great Hour of Sharing." (Look between the Palm Sunday and Easter envelopes.)
*This offering is a vital and evolving part of the Presbyterian mission because it provides assistance to the Presbyterian Hunger Program, the Presbyterian Self-Development of People, and the Presbyterian Disaster Assistance (PDA) Program.
*The mission is simple ... to walk in recovery and wholeness with those whose lives have been shattered by disaster and to stand with communities facing hunger, disease, unemployment, and environmental degradation.
*When we share our resources and our gifts with people in need, we witness God's love not only in their lives but in our own as well.
Butler VA Hospital/Wheel Chair Escort Volunteers:
*Thank you to all who signed up to escort VA patients to chapel services during the month of March. As is usually the way in mission work, folks who have participated in the past have told me how rewarding this ministry is and how you come away with a grateful heart - grateful because of the opportunity to serve God by helping others. Grateful to these veterans for their service to our country.
Trace & Karen Bender, Wycliffe Bible Translators:
*Our missionary friends, Trace & Karen, have found it necessary to leave Bangui, CAR (Central African Republic) and return to the states on March 5th due to Karen's health. Please keep them in your prayers as they sort through their future plans to serve in the missionary field. I"m sure they would appreciate your cards and words of encouragment!** Trace & Karen Bender 69 Wandle Ave. Bedford, OH 44146

Mission Challenge!

"If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him? Dear children, let us not love with words on tongue but with actions and in truth."   1 John 3: 17 & 18
